WPC (Women’s Players Club)

WPC is an interclub event consisting of 4 golf clubs: Grand Haven Golf Club, Oceanside Country Club, and Clubs at Plantation Bay (Prestwick and Founders). Grand Haven and Oceanside are combined as one team named “Ocean Haven”.

Clubs at Plantation Bay and Ocean Haven will field a team of their sixteen lowest handicap players for each event. The Ocean Haven Team will be organized by the Grand Haven and Oceanside captains. The team lineup is in order of handicap index not to exceed 27.0.

There are 8 Better matches played at each event. The top 4 matches are played at gross, no strokes and the other 4 matches play at net off of the low handicap player in foursome. Each match is scored 1 point per hole (1 point for a win, ½ point for a tie). There are a total of 18 points per match. All match scores are added together to determine the team’s total score. The team’s total at the end of the year will determine the season champion.

There are 4 matches per season. Oceanside, Grand Haven, Clubs at Plantation Bay (Prestwick and Founders) clubs each host 1 match play event during the year where points will be accumulated. All players pay for golf and optional lunch.

The normal season schedule for hosting a WPC event (subject to change) is:

December – Founders (Plantation Bay)

January – Grand Haven

February - Oceanside

March – Prestwick (Plantation Bay).
